We arrived in the Culloden Hotel on 7 April at 10.00am, enjoying coffee/tea prior to meeting our demonstrator, David McConkey, holder of the title “Wedding Florist of the Year, 2024”.

We were treated to a morning of professional flower arranging, with our host producing a stunning bouquet with ease. Each person then received a selection of blooms to enable them to “replicate”

David’s instructions at their leisure. The usual chatter broke out while the flowers were arranged and the results pictured show how varied and interesting the individual arrangements became. No two bouquets were the same and showed how even amateurs, given the right instructions, could create such stunning displays.

Following our busy morning, we were treated to a delicious two course lunch, ably served by the hotel staff. Everyone agreed they had thoroughly enjoyed the event and voiced their thanks to the PST Board and Michelle for organising such a treat.

One client was unable to attend due to a car breakdown and David suggested he could deliver his original display to her. Needless to say his offer was gratefully accepted and one lucky lady received a delightful gift that evening.

You really would need to have been there to appreciate how successful the day was, as each client left for home with their precious cargo and smiles all around.
