Yes it was that time of year again – Christmas and the annual widows’ outing to the pantomime at the Grand Opera House in Belfast and overnight stay at the Europa hotel.

It was lovely to see all the familiar (and some new) faces at our regular outing for Christmas.  And what a fabulous outing it was.  The Europa hotel looked amazing with it’s excellent Christmas decorations and the evening meal before moving into the Grand Opera House next door was first class.  And that roast beef was to die for.. delicious!  The pantomime was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone, as was the star of the show, May McFettridge.  It was just great to be out at the theatre again, albeit with our covid restrictions.. a sign of the times.  Here’s hoping by next Christmas the restrictions will be over and covid will be under control.  After the show we went back to our hotel and the following morning enjoyed a terrific breakfast buffet.
