Medically Retired Trip to Dublin - April 2022

On 6th April we assembled at the PST where we boarded our luxury coach for another adventure this time, we were off to Dublin.

On route we stopped off at Apple Green for some light refreshments, after a quick pit stop it was back on the coach and off on the remainder of our journey to Dublin.

Our check in wasn’t to 16.30 but we were able to leave our luggage off at our hotel at Jurys Inn on Parnell Street.  After our bag drop was completed, it was out in the big smoke of Dublin for some retail therapy and site seeing at everyone’s leisure.

Later that evening with large amounts of shopping bags dropped off in the rooms after hours of shopping it was time for dinner which was served in our hotel, and the rest of the evening was spent relaxing in the lounge over some drinks with plenty of banter and craic.

The following morning after a leisurely breakfast we had free time to explore Dublin with most of the clients choosing to partake in some more retail therapy.
That evening after our early evening meal we took the coach to the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre to watch Broadway’s longest-running American musical, Chicago a dazzling and satirical look at fame, justice, and the media machine. Set in 1920s Chicago and based on real-life murders and trials, Chicago follows Roxie Hart, a wannabe vaudevillian star who murders her lover and is arrested, despite her attempts to convince her pushover husband, Amos, to lie for her.  What an amazing musical it was.  After a short coach journey back to our hotel it was time for a night cap, relaxing in the lounge and catching up with friends.

Next morning everyone enjoyed a little lie in with breakfast being served up to 10am. After a relaxing breakfast and check out we all departed the hotel stopping of enroute for a pit stop at Apple Green for a quick cuppa, then it was homeward bound to Hydebank arriving at the PST mid evening were everyone said their goodbyes.

Our thanks go to Michelle and the Board of Directors for organising such an enjoyable trip, and to our medical retired clients who made this such an enjoyable trip.

Hope to see you all again soon................  Martin.
