Who we are

About The PST

The PST was set up in 2002 with Government funding with the intention to address the needs of the wider Prison Service family to include widows/widowers, dependants of murdered staff and those who have died in service, medically retired Officers and the dependants of those medically retired. Please note medically retired staff must apply within 6 months of medical retirement.

The Trust continues to deliver the following three main types of services:

  • Health care, encouraging physical and emotional well-being
  • Life planning, incorporating education
  • Support services, promoting welfare, family and social contact

 

 

 

 

NEW SUPPORT AVAILABLE

New Healthcare and Support Services for Former Prison Officers

The Police Rehabilitation and Retraining Trust (PRRT) have been providing a range of health and wellbeing support services to various organisations within the Department of Justice since 1999.

The new service for former Prison Officers will come into effect on the 1st February 2022. They will be able to self-refer to any, or all three services on offer.

Prison Archives Visit

17 05 2023

“Following on from a suggestion from Sandra Peake at the WAVE organisation, a group of volunteers from the Prison Service Trust arranged a trip to view the Prison Archives at a discrete storage facility at Holywood Exchange in April. ”
